Photography: Things to Remember
Lighting
Shoot in natural daylight, ideally between 10am and 2pm — even a beautiful home will look dull in poor lighting.
- Open curtains and blinds
- Turn on all lamps and ceiling lights for layered lighting
- Avoid using flash (harsh shadows)
Quality Control
Photos are our most valuable guest-facing selling point. This includes de-cluttering, layered lighting, item placement, hiding cables, and capturing stand-out items. Please use initiative to make sure this is done perfectly.
- De-clutter surfaces and floors
- Hide cables and chargers
- Position standout items deliberately
Angles
- Always shoot landscape, not portrait
- Stand in corners to capture as much of the space as possible
- Take wide shots of every room
- Use a tripod or stabiliser if needed for clean framing
